College Canteen

College Canteen

A cherished space for students, teachers, and staff since 1952.

About the College Canteen

The College Canteen was established in the month of September, 1952.

Later, it remained closed for about ten years from 1966 to 1976. It started again in March 1976.

In this refreshment room, the basic Indian snacks and beverages are offered at reasonable prices to the students, teachers, and the employees of the college.

The Canteen is regulated and monitored by a committee nominated by the Principal.

The members of the committee are the teachers of the college, who do the work of inclusion and exclusion of the items from the menu, if it doesn't meet the expectations of the students. Apart from this, it also does the work of supervising and maintaining the basic hygiene standards while cooking and serving food. The price of items sold in the Canteen is approved by the committee.

Considering its location and popularity, a recommendation was also made to the university and the government to develop it as a central refreshment house. Presently, it has been postponed and given to Patna University Sports Board as an office.

The present Patna College canteen was inaugurated by the then Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ras Bihari Prasad Singh on the 14.10.2019.

At this time, the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Sinha reopened this college canteen in 2024. Now, snacks, tea, coffee, and cold drinks etc. are available at reasonable prices, which are being availed by the teachers, employees, and the students.
